Sound Converter for OLD sound files

Hi,

Anyone know of a sound converter for OSX that can convert old sound files from OS 9?

These are old-school ones that you double-click and they play. The file extension is missing on them, so I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I've had them for ages!

And if you double click them, the play in what application?

Can you right click on them and select GET INFO (while in FInder) and get more information about them?

If they play in QuickTime, any current audio format converter can be used.
