Hi,

I am just settling into my new iMac after finally letting go of my old 2017 27" model.

I decided to use a usb-c to 3.5mm jack audio adapter so that I don't have to have the jack sticking out from the side. These are for my Harmon Kardon soundsticks 2, which still provide great sound despite being a few years old.

Playing through them was fine but when I turned the Mac off last night a distorted buzz was coming from the speakers which could only be stopped by unplugging the usb-c adapter?

Is this to be expected or does it depend on the adapter?

Many thanks in advance!

Do you hear the distorted buzz of the speakers are directly plugged into the jack on the side of the iMac?
