Sound has disappeared!

Hi,

The sound has just disappeared on my 2 month old iMac. I noticed it wasnt that loud at highest volume and then sudenly nothing at all. I've restarted twice and get the start up noise. I have also opened and closed Garage Band and nowt.

Please help?

Go to system preferences and go to the sound icon. Fiddle around with the Output volume there and see if anything changes.

Thank you so much. What I did was.

1. Shut down
2. Took out all the cables including the power cable.
3. Waited 30 seconds
4. Powered up
5. Back in business!!

Yeah, sometimes this happens. Not sure why.
