Hey there,
I tried the recent El Capitan beta and unfortunately my Apogee Duet stops playback after a few minutes. On Yosemite it is all working well. I already wrote an email to Apogee, I hope they fix it before the final release of El Capitan. If you need special hardware maybe you should do the same and encourage the companies to already start testing with El Capitan. When Yosemite was released, I had to wait several weeks or even months until they fixed it with an update. I had to update the firmware...

So maybe you can give those companies a heads-up ;)

Apogee have announced Duet Firewire will not be supported on El Capitan, is this the Duet model you have? If so, does it work ok?

No I have the newest one for iPad and Mac. I heard that the FireWire version still works but does not get new drivers nor is it guaranteed to work. Best is to try it out I guess.

Thanks. I don't want to upgrade to El Capitan and not be able to use the Duet Firewire. I guess I'll stick with Yosemite for the time being.

I upgraded to El Capitan and my Duet firewire doesn't work nor can I update the driver so it's useless. Bummer

I don't have Apogee hardware, but just wondering...
... if you boot to the recovery partition, and disable System Integrity Protection via the terminal, and then reboot to your normal boot volume, does that change anything?

It's my understanding that after upgrading you need to uninstall then reinstall the maestro software, then it should work.

I just bit the bullet and updated to El Capitan. I used the download to uninstall and reinstall the Maestro software. So far so good. Logic Pro 9 and Reason 4 seem to run pretty well. The Ensemble was recognized and Maestro popped right on up when it was turned on. El Capitan seems to fix some of the problems I was having with Yosemite.
