sound is gone on iphone

this morning when i received my first call of the day, i couldnt hear anyone. Tgen the second and third, nothing. The keys dont click when i type, i hear no sound when i play movies or music on it, either. Apple said they are sending a box, but i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? And is there a fix rather than a 4 day process of sending it off? I am in charleston sc with no apple store within 200 miles, and apparently i cant do an exchange with the att store

Same Here

This happened to me as well. I just turned the phone off and then back on and I was fixed. The same type of thing happens to me on my laptop if I close the the screen with iChat up.
