Sound issue w/ iPhone 3GS

Good evening all,

I have seen different google results w/ various ideas on what might be afflicting my iphone. Let me lay it out and any/all ideas are welcome:

Ringer works, call quality is fine,
Youtube app and my only other app I use a lot that require sound (scanner) work fine.

Only problem is the slider bar, the touch keys (when typing) and a couple of my other 'used once in a while' game apps (my gun app for one LOL) ONLY make sounds when the headphones are plugged in. I have blown air into the headphone hole, and done a reset under general--reset all. No joy....any ideas?

Never mind I got it. I took it out of the case, and on the left side on the edge near the top, above the ringer volume buttons, is a small slider switch...grrr....that did it.
