Hi all,

I realise this isn't a support forum as such (or is it..?), but i was hoping someone on here could help as the Apple support forums don't want to let me sign in.. (not that i class you lot as second best :p)

Basically i'm having an issue with a new 27 iMac i've just purchased.

It's a difficult one to explain, but basically the audio playing through the iMac keeps glitching intermittently. I'm using the mac pretty much solely for audio production/editing so this is a big problem.
The glitch is a small (1-50ms) silence when playing audio. At first i thought it could have just been something interfering, but after closing everything down exc. Spotify it carried on. I restarted the machine and it was fine for a few hours and then started doing it again.

I've tried narrowing it down to see what could be causing it but i'm lost..
I recorded the audio output using AudioHijack and when i heard a glitch i relistened to the recorded audio but it hadn't picked it up.
This made me think it could be my mixer/speakers, so i ran it through the iMac speakers. Unfortunately it carried on.

So, what could it be? Everything else on the mac is flawless so i really don't want to take it back and try to explain this to a 'genius' with him telling me there isn't a problem.

Everything is updated and the glitch appears to happen in every audio programme i'm using.

ANY help is much appreciated. It's a horrible feeling having spent £1700 on a machine that can't play a 4 minute song properly..

Cheers,

Tif
