Sound level meter reading software needed

Hi there
I'm looking for some free software to give me a sound level meter reading.

What I need it for is to get the volume balanced on the height of the pickups on my bass guitar (the top two strings are louder than the bottom two strings).
I could do it by ear, but I want something a little more accurate than this.

I have my bass guitar plugged into my mac via a USB Audio Interface.

It doesnt need to tell me exact decibels, just some kind of display bar will be fine. Garageband doesnt have an accurate enough display for this (That I can see of)
Any ideas? I cant find one on www.download.com
