sound not working when woken up?

hello.

I have my sound on for waking and sleeping my iPhone. when I press the sleep button, I get the little click, but when I turn it on, slide my finger across to wake it, I don't get the click sound? It's been working Since I got it, but just today I noticed it. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks.
