I just got my new Mac mini (the 6 core one just released). And I wanted to play sound via my HDMI monitor. So I connected my Mac mini to my monitor via HDMI. Migrated my setttings and programs from my old Mac mini (that uses a display port). Now I cannot play sound from my Mac mini through my display, as it states in the sound preferences in the sound output tab that my the Type of my Monitor is Displayport instead of HDMI. However I am able to play the sound effects through my monitor...

Is there some way to reset these monitor settings so that my Mac mini will maybe correctly see that it is connected through HDMI? It also does not make sense that I can play the sound effects via my monitor but cannot play the other sound via my monitor... please help.
