Sound problem

I have a early 2008 2.8 Pro & I am using a Griffin Firewave for sound. Lately, I have been having the problem of no sound after a reboot. If I go into the utility for Firewave, it will generate sound for the individual channel tests.

I have reinstalled the software & reset permissions. Still no sound. If I boot from my back-up drive, the sound works and if I then reboot to my regular drive, the sound works fine.

Any ideas?
