Sound quality in Vista

Sound quality in Vista is really bad. It sounds like a very bad radio. I tried re-installing completly Vista, re-installing the original drivers, re-installing the updated drivers from RealTek website....nothing worked. I don't expect FANTASTIC sound from my iMac but sound quality in Vista should at least be as good as Leopard.

Anyone have an idea??
