iPod touch Sound Quality of an iPod Touch

its as good as any other iPod i have ever used...

Hows the sound quality on the iPod Touch? I heard that its so bad that you can hear the hissing of the Ipod...(I really doubt this...) But hows the sound quality?
apparantly the very first firmware version had a slight problem. Its been cleared up for a loooooong time now. I personally think it sounds great now on 1.1.4, and they usually tweak this and that with the sound but it gets better with every release.

There's no hissing on my iPod Touch. I even use the regular iPod headphones.
I don't know where you heard that iPod Touches have a hissing noise.
There can be hissing if you are using really sensitive headphones...like the etymotics. You won't hear any hissing out of the ibudz..because well..they are horrible.

I use the Etymotic ER6i isolating earphones and the Sennheiser PX-100 headphones, and I have yet to hear hiss during quiet passages of music on my iPod Touch.
Very light hiss here too. Only noticeable if/when I switch on/off the ipod though, and I'm not using any fancy headphones.
Of the three iPods I have owned, the touch has the best sound quality. I've never heard a hiss, even when the iPod is played through amplified speakers.
