Audacity messes up my sound after i run it (system sounds disappear). I have to restart to get them back.. otherwise i love it. But is there any other FREE programs for the intel macbook pro I can use to record sound easily? Garageband is nice, but too big and cumbersom a tool for quick on-the-fly recording. I need to be able to hit a button and it will just spit out an mp3, wav, aiff, or whatever. It's kinda rediculous that macs don't have one built into the OS. My windows did, and it got the job done, albeit without the extra dressing that garageband does.
