I've been using Sound Studio mainly to dub MiniDisc off-air recordings to AIFF files and thence into iTunes. Occasionally I record from streamed content by using a cable between the audio output and input ports on my PB. I find Sound Studio pretty easy to use, and edits are simple to achieve.

I've noted good reviews of Audio Hijack Pro -- does this have any benefits over Sound Studio? What are the real differences between the two packages?

As far as I'm aware, Sound Studio is mainly used for converting/editing sound files, where as Audio Hijack (Pro) is mainly used for grabbing audio from a source you can't record directly, but it also contains many of Sound Studio's features and some features you won't find in Sound Studio. Basically, Audio Hijack (especially Audio Hijack Pro) is quite a bit more powerful than Sound Studio. Also, Audio Hijack Pro is CHEAPER than Sound Studio (SS: US$49.99 - download, US$59.99 CD AH: US$32 - download only).
