And so continues the ongoing fight between Leopard and my PowerBook...

The sound system seems to be disabled, or otherwise not recognized.

The indicator in the menubar shows the volume is turned up all the way, but when i try to adjust it via the keyboard shortcuts, it shows... well look at the attached picture.

I will reboot (again), but this time try resetting PRAM. Has anyone else ran into this problem?

This was happening before I re-installed Leopard to fix the older problems.

Well looks like the PRAM reset (-opt-P-R) fixed the problem.

Just letting everyone know in case anyone else runs into the same problem.

I think I have a bigger problem

After installing Leopard 10.5, my audio seems to be disabled as well. Unfortunately because I set an Open Firmware password, I can't figure out how to enable it so that I can boot from the installer disk and run the Disk Utility from there. Back to the manual for me...
