hi,

i'm making a short film and am still unsure what equipment to use for sound. I'm going to do some voice recordings and some effects (footsteps, etc). Below are the options I've researched but which works best? Also any affordable brands/models that can be recommended?

option 1:
-shotgun or condenser mic
-audio interface
-record to garageband with macbook

option 2:
-mic
-record to dat
-transfer with a digital interface to macbook

option 3:
-mic
-record to dv camera
-transfer to laptop

also i'm using Final Cut Express 3.5 with soundtrack-can i mix garageband tracks into soundtrack?

of course i'm looking for the nicest sound for the best price-whatever sounds the most genuine

thanks in advance for your help,
