Sound will only come out of MacPro with Snow Leapord and not speakers!

Hi,
I just upgraded my 2009 Mac Pro with a clean install of Snow Leopard and I have 2 24 ACD hooked up to the Mac Pro, and a set of speakers. I can usually go through the audio settings and choose which speakers I want the audio to come out of and I always choose my set of speakers, although now in SL I can still choose although nothing happens when I do and the audio will only come out of the horrible speaker that is built inside the Mac Pro.
