When i listen to anything with headphones and then want to unplug the headphones and listen to whatever im listening it.. it wont work.. it never does.. i have the older version of white macbook.. got it in september.... Anyone know how to fix this? Or take it to apple?

When you unplug the headphones, is there a red light shining out from the headphone port? If so, the optical-out trigger is stuck in the "on" position. It's fairly normal. Read around on google/around here, you can fix it being careful with a thin toothpick or something of the like.
 
wow, I wish someone would have mentioned this in my thread haha, I'm having the same problem and just checked and I've got a red light too
