Hey guys,

I just noticed after picking my laptop up that something jingles on the left side of my macbook. I never dropped it or banged it, I recently sent into the apple store to get the sound fixed.

Could it be the keys possibly? Really odd... any suggestions? It is still under warranty so I can always get it fixed if something is wrong.

I suggest bringing it back to the store.

If it didn't jingle before the repair, then perhaps they did something to it.

I didn't notice it beforehand. It is really weird.. I tilt the mac left and right and something makes a sound on the left side of the keyboard.

so annoying

It's the HD needle picking itself off to avoid damage, no biggy

so its not an irregularity? it is a normal sound? it doesnt stand out.. you rly have to like tilt the mac and listen for it.

yeah its most likely the hard drive parking its head so it doesnt damage your hard disk.

some drives are more noticeable than others. do you have the 250gb hitachi? iv read that many have reported that they can hear the hard drive parking its head when you move it.

i have this: 250GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard disk drive

Dude, we told you it's you HD, its no big deal. It happens som HD's have prevention to stop damage, this click or noise is that taking action. Chillax and have fun with your Mac!:)

Does it make the sound when the machine is powered off? I'm not that familiar with the technology, but I would imagine that once the power is off, the head should already be parked.

The short answer is this:

If your concerned, take it in to the store. You've paid a lot for the machine, and you should be satisfied.

Good luck!
