Harman updated their Soundsticks to version 3.

They increased the price 40 bucks and the only changes: using a white light instead of blue, now they use braided wire in the speakers, and it's 'easier to turn it off.' Same wattage, same everything else.
This is timely for me, as I've disconnected my Soundsticks II after many years. They are just falling apart, but have served me well.
I'm in need of new speakers, but I don't dig the clear enclosures - it just seems so dated now. I've got $250 in gift certs to the Apple Store so I've been sniffing around the B&W MM-1. I hear the quality is fantastic within 5 feet, which is all I care about. I just can't justify the $499 price tag. Yet.
Oh, and I don't want a sub - I already have a huge sub in my office for my HK AVR Receiver.
Anyone hear the MM-1s in person?
