Soundtrack Pro and Garagband Loops and Intruments on External? ok?

is it ok to put the 40+ GBs of apple loops and instruments and gadgets that comes with Logic Studio 9 or Final Cut Studio, that are used in SoundTrack Pro and Garageband onto another Hardrive?

i want to put all the loops and instruments and such on my external to save space on my Macbook Pros Hardrive
