On an island in Maine
My wife an I are working on an animated Flash (and eventually DVD) movie series with music. Currently we are using Flash, Adobe CS, iMovie, GarageBand and Melody Assistant. We would like to move up to better software, particularly on the audio end. What I was wondering is if anyone has had much experience with Soundtrack and/or Logic.

As I am a starving artist I can't afford to shell out thousands on software, what I'm wondering is if Final Cut Express with Soundtrack or Logic Express would be a better investment. Final Cut Express would be useful to me (because iMovie is total garbage), but if Soundtrack stinks then I'd rather go with Logic and get Final Cut Express later.

Any help would be useful.
