That's too bad. I wish him well.
Yes, me too. Regardless of one's political beliefs, there's no excuse for this thread to turn ugly or sarcastic; I hope we can all agree to wish him a speedy recovery.

My prayers go out to Bill Clinton. May God give his doctors wisdom. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Good Point. I hope he does get well. Lots of people have long healthy lives after bypasses

Yes, his age and health is on his side. My father-in-law had bypass surgery about 30 years ago. No heart problems since. Just has to continue taking medications and watch the diet.

That is surprising; he always seemed lively and healthy, even to this day. But, according to the article:

His cholesterol level was probably at an unhealthy level.

Yeah, don't you remember the SNL skits during his first term with him scarfing down whoppers?

I do hope, however, that Clinton's surgery goes well and that he recovers quickly. All the best to this fine American President.

Get better soon Bubba

This was unpleasant news. I am sure that he will take it in stride though and maybe lay off of the cheeseburgers now. I haven't seen him speak in person yet and I am still waiting for that opportunity.

Get better soon Bill.

I agree, this brings everyone together in agreement wishing him a speedy recovery. Hopefully this will be enough of a wake up call that he will change his life style. The stress that he has been under, poor diet, and family history has increased his risk.

Does anyone know how many bypass's he is going to have?

The number that I have heard most often is 4. The final determination will be made during the surgery. He is supposed to be operated on today. I have had him in my prayers today. I ask for wisdom for the doctors and nurses that they will be given wisdom during the surgery and aftercare.

Update he is now out of surgery and in recovery. He had a quadruple bypass operation, four vessels. As Dr. Timothy Johnson said, "He is 90% out of the wood, the next 24 hours is critical. Will be watching for bleeding and infection." This is major surgery, he will need 6 - 8 weeks for a full recovery.
