Space bar stopped triggering Quick Look, but cmd-y still works

This has happened before. A logout ->login or reboot fixes it. However, it's supremely annoying when it happens and I'd love to know how to fix it without rebooting, or what causes it so that I can prevent it in the future.

Basically, space bar does NOTHING when an item is selected. But cmd-y, or opening the context menu and hitting Quick Look still works.

Any ideas? Has anyone else seen this?

Did you change your keyboard shortcuts in an other application, or someplace else in the system?

You can try going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts tab, and click on "Restore Defaults" .

That said, if you have created other shortcuts, it will delete those in favor of the default system settings.
