I’ve had only stainless steel, but I just want a durable watch/finish.

natural will just look like silver aluminum from afar... 🤷🏽‍♂️
not sure why this matters, lol
I think the natural is a quite a bit different to silver aluminium personally. It’s warmer, shinier and brushed. A lot of that is harder to discern on the black version. It matters to me, and I’m sure a lot of others, as it’s a fashion accessory.

The beauty of the watch is that it’s a very personal device and people can buy the case they like best. I much prefer the silver models over the space grey/black, for example, but understand why many others would disagree. Luckily there’s an option for everyone.

I guess I look at the Apple Watch as a tool, and use my Omega as a fashion timepiece. To each their own.

I have the SB Ti and my dad has a SG S5 aluminum. For me personally, I can say that side by side, and from a distance, they do not look alike at all. The SG aluminum looks more grey as opposed to the near, but not quite black of the SB Ti. That said, the Titanium watches tend to look different depending on the angle the light is shining on it.

I think both Ti models look great, and the added benefits of an included sport loop and double the warranty make it an even better buy within its price range.

100% agree. And I have owned SS, SBSS, SG Al, SBTi and now natural Ti.

SBSS, SBTi and SG Al are all easily distinguishable in person. Spot on regarding the color changes in the SBTi, it can go from a a dull black in less lighting, while in bright light it can look light colored. Both of those shots are SBTi.

I’m really liking the natural the more I see photos of it. My SB shipped today, but I just bought the natural and will just return the unopened SB, that’s how confident I am lol

I thought I had decided on regular ti over SBti... but I keep asking myself... do I want more pop, or more stealth. I wore the regular ti for a day but couldn’t really tell if it felt that new or different coming from my SS.

Here are both ti’s side by side. Each with their respective edition bands. I’ve already ruled out Graphite SS. I wanted something more premium and lighter after my last 4 SS models lol.

Are the pictures that have been posted in this thread of the Series 6 SBTi? From what I have seen (both on Apple's website and this forum), I am concerned that this year's SBTi doesn't have as dark a finish as last year's, although based on the pictures above this could also very well be down to the lighting when the watch is photographed.

Yes, mine

Mine right above your post are series 6. As far as I know not one thing has changed with the physical appearance of the the Ti models.

Very interesting - thank you both. I guess I was hoping for a look more like the second picture in WileyCoyote's post above, comparable to the matte black finish of the iPhone 7, so when I saw pictures where the finish appeared much lighter than expected I was concerned. Seeing these pictures alleviates that concern somewhat, since the differences seems to be largely down to lighting/angle/environment.

Mine should be arriving tomorrow, so I will find out soon enough - very exciting in any case!

Just a poll to see who bought or prefers which.

I bought the black titanium s5. If I could do it all over again I’d buy the silver finish as you can match those bands with different colors. There’s a reason why Apple uses lighter finishes when showing other colored bands.

From the perspective of a fashion accessory, the bright-light appearance of the natural Ti is too much like aluminium for me. It's like Coke vs Pepsi - we all think that we can tell the difference but in a blind test, most people get it wrong.

"In the first part of the study, participants were given Coca-Cola, Pepsi, or RC Cola. When asked to guess which was which, participants’ guesses (41% correct for Coca-Cola, 38% for Pepsi and 35% for RC) were not significantly more accurate than chance (the only reason they look a bit better for Coca-Cola is that they are more likely to guess this more famous brand, regardless of the drink being presented). Indeed, in the second part of the study, when participants were—unbeknown to them—given the same cola in all three glasses, an almost identical pattern was observed, with 45%, 32% and 25% correct guesses for Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and RC respectively."

If giving an impression of having a more premium watch or a different style from the norm is important to you, I would suggest Space Black Ti.

If other people's opinion doesn't matter to you... well, then this thread shouldn't exist in the first place 😀(Functional arguments around ability to match bands aside... but really, there are tons of bands that match with both)

That said, for those who don't care if some random person thinks your watch is silver aluminium, natural Ti is very nice!

I wouldn’t say the natural ti looks any more like the silver aluminum than the SB ti looks like the space grey aluminum.

Then why not just get the cheapest one you can since they all do the same things?

@NM08SRT8 is correct. You’re purchasing the more ‘premium watch’ models for the aesthetics, and durability with the DLC/sapphire. For those who spend the extra money, they know exactly what they’re getting, because we tend to be more particular about the experience with the weight of the watch and how it looks paired with what outfits, ect. Perhaps somebody that only wants the aluminum Model for the gym, wouldn’t care about any of the above, but it’s a totally different class of appeal when you look at the stainless/Ti/Ceramic models and above.

Had my natural Ti since launch and still loving it. It’s still in perfect condition. I don’t look at it from afar so it’s a nonissue. When I’m out and about I notice people wearing Apple watches but, don’t try to determine what case material it is.

This is exactly right. I am someone who has come from the luxury watch world and love watches. When i switched to a daily Apple Watch i want something that is similar to the luxury watch experience. SS or Titanium with a sapphire face.

When I wore luxury watches daily I had an aluminum Apple Watch on the charger by the bed as a clock and workout device only.

In my experience you need to see them in person as most photos won’t do them justice.
