Hi everyone. I have a problem with the space available on the iphone. I don't know how to manage it. Mainly it's material coming from whatsapp conversations (photos and videos). And then there is no space anymore to update the OS. What do you do? I used to periodically download every single photo (of every conversation) to my mac, but it's a boring and lengthy process, and after a month or so you have to do it again. I've been using google photos (15 GBs available, and then when finished open a new account). Do you suggest to use icloud? Does icloud upload whatsapp photos in the cloud and take them away from the iphone space? Please help.

Hi. In order to free up space on your device, you need to completely remove some content (photos, messages, email, etc). What that content might be, is different for everyone but it's usually photos/videos. iCloud will not solve your issue because any photos/videos that are uploaded to iCloud Photo Library are synced with your devices using iCloud. That means, when you delete photos on your device/s, they are deleted in iCloud. Google Photos is a better alternative because your data is safe even when you delete things from your device. Increasing your storage on Google Photos is a much better option for saving your photos/videos. All the iCloud storage in the world won't help your issue. Explore the Google option and you'll then be able to remove data on your device and free up space.
