Maintaining two different models is more expensive than maintaining one.

Just put a gray case on your rMBP like I have. It's almost the same thing. Sort of. Ok maybe not

After seeing the rMB's, the space grey wasn't all that special or dark. In the light it could be mistaken as the regular silver.

The MBP doesn't need flashy colors to sell, the machine does the talking

I just got the 2015 model, love it so far and the track pad is nifty. But i would also like a Space Gray one. I seen the SG MBR in store and it looked pretty sick!

I know you can send your MBPR out and have it done professionally, but it cost a lot more than i thought it would.

Only thing is the trackpad wouldn't be painted to match the rest of the body which doesn't look good IMO.

I know its a bad reference but Kanye West has a all black macbook pro . Even the track pad.

I would think now that it doesn't technically move anymore at least the 2015 versions couldn't it now be painted along with the rest professionally?

If that's the case that'd look awesome, but I always thought they (i.e. Colorware) purposely didn't paint the trackpad because it'd interfere with touch control.

Correct. No black trackpad. The inside of the ports aren't painted either.

I grabbed these quick the one with him in the picture is the most recent when he did a interview for his new sneakers for Adidas about a month ago. That looks to be a 13" MBP. The other obviously a 15" looks like a older picture.
