Local Best Buy had multiple Series 2 AW SG in stock but the two I bought had chips on the frame that were silver so I returned it.

Is this an issue with SG or did I just get unlucky?

Could have occurred through the manufacturing process perhaps? But in two would concern me. The aluminum is prone to chipping, being its almost as if it's painted over the casing. I originally had the aluminum model and switched to the stainless, never looking back. Worth the upgrade.

Had SS for Series 0 and was thinking of maybe getting SS again. I threw the Watch in my bag and never had to worry about scratches. Was just disappointed with the resale value compared to the Sport version.

Heard good things about the Aluminum too. Bummed that they were chipped.

My space Frey has a tiny tiny chip on the bottom right in the ridge where the band slips in. I simply ignored it. I can't imagine this thing will look utterly pristine 2 years down the road. While stainless is nice, scratch resistance isn't worth the depreciation to me.
