I've previously gone silver with the X then the XS Max and would like to go Space Grey with the 11 Pro Max, but worry the PVD coating may show signs of damage from dust/grit entering and rubbing the sides.

Regular removal and cleaning will help no doubt but would like to hear from owners on how their phones have held up.
The ease of polishing the silver puts my mind at ease but I so prefer the darker phone colour.

Thanks.

No issues with mine...still looks good as new. Cases used (Apple Leather and Caudabe Sheath).

I don't have any issues on mine either. I think the PVD coating is pretty durable. Not only have I taken off cases that are notoriously hard to remove (like the RhinoShield SolidSuit and Spigen Neo Hybrid) a number of times without scuffing the sides, I've also accidentally dropped the phone without a case into my bathroom sink. The phone slid and hit the metal pop up sink drain stopper really hard but there were no scratches or dents. (And trust me, I inspected the heck out of the sides after that happened because I'm extremely OCD.) Obviously, your mileage may vary, so please don't take my experience as a license to be carefree!
