spacebar is hard to press on my 2021 M1 Pro

My 2021 M1 Pro isn't much more than a year old and the spacebar has become significantly more difficult to press.

It makes typing difficult and unenjoyable.

Is this a known issue with this model?

There's probably debris under the key. Don't try to remove the key yourself, but tip the laptop up on its side at an angle and hit the underside with an air blower.

As posguy99 says likely some debris that got under the spacebar. I've had it happen on different laptops. If blowing it with canned air doesn't fix it then take to to the Apple Store. They'll have the tools to remove the key and clean under it. I bet they won't even charge you and if so I can't imagine it would be much at all.

I have the iFixit Pro Tech toolkit. The spudger(s) should be appropriate for popping the spacebar perhaps?

I suppose you could look up online but I wouldn’t do it. Check on YouTube but I wouldn’t just pry up on it because even if it’s a plastic spudger and you’re doing it wrong you could break it. I don’t see any reason why to do it yourself unless you’re 300 miles from the nearest Apple store. Worst case scenario if you break you have to pay Apple to fix it.
