Posting this just to share. Last week I found I was suddenly making lots of errors of not including spaces as I typed on my 2015 MBA. I found that when I clicked on the right end of the spacebar it didn't register a space, but it was fine if I clicked in the middle or at the left end. I tried firing some compressed air under it, with no effect, and resigned myself to needing to take it in to get it repaired.
But then something weird happened - my computer restarted after an OS update and the problem went away.
I noticed later that Karabiner Elements, which I'd had installed to use my \ key as a backspace key (old habit from my Windows days) was not working after the OS update, so I'm presuming that had something to do with it. Still, pretty weird to lose just one end of the space bar out of the blue like that.
Anyway, posting here because when I searched for solutions to the keyboard issue most threads in various forums ended with people returning their computers. This is likely an isolated use case, but I figured I'd document it for the small pool of others who may have the same issue.
