Hey all,

I'm having this slight problem with my new macbook pro 15".
Essentially there are 2 "dead" areas on the spacebar that when pressed, no space is registered in the text. The areas are on the far ends on the spacebar near the cmd key, both on the right and left side, and they end mid-M/C button on their respective side.

Is anyone else having this problem or is this a defective keyboard?

Although this is seemly quite a minor problem, it is really tedious having to go back and correct mistakes. For instance, when I just typed this post initially, it was missing 6/7 spaces between words...

Besides this, I'm loving my new mbp and the switch to OS X.
Thanks for any help!

I would suggest you to take out the defective keyboard thing and using without it. If you still have problems with it, then you should bring it to Apple and show them what's wrong with it. It's most likely that they will exchange with the new laptop if it's under 14 days.
