I started using the Bouncer app a year or two ago to filter out political and other junk text messages, and it has saved my sanity. But one compromise I had to accept in the process was disabling SMS text forwarding (which sends SMS messages to my Mac and iPad), because apparently this forwarding occurs before messages are filtered (so, in other words, junk texts would always get sent to those other devices, even though they were filtered out from my iPhone).

I’m wondering if the new spam text filtering in iOS26 operates the same way? Do junk texts get forwarded to other devices, or not? I’d love to be able to reenable that feature.

My understanding is that junk texts will be forwarded, HOWEVER if your iPad or Mac are running iPadOS 26 / macOS 26, then those devices will benefit from the same spam categorization/filtering.

I haven't been able to test this. I am running iOS 26 beta, but only for about 10 days, and I haven't had any spam texts show up yet. (Guess I don't get them as often as you ...)
