So heres the deal. I'm going to be upgrading my hard drive to the western digital 640gig hard drives so i'm going to have two 250gig hard drives lying about.

I'm just wondering if there is anyway of externally combining the two hard drives so i have one 500gig hard drive instead of two 250gigs?

I suppose you can use RAID, if you buy the external cages and things

Sell your 2 x 250's on eBay and use the money for a new (500/640gb) external?

I second selling them. You can actually make a decent buck for hard drives if they are in good shape. I sell them on my school's market bulletin board - I sold three 320gb drives for enough to buy a terabyte drive. Since then i've done the same thing a few more times whenever bigger drives become cheaper. It's (generally) much easier to have bigger disks around, and it gets rid of older drives for newer ones...kinda a win win.
