Spare iPhone 3GS - Can it be used for an existing line?

Hey all

I currently have a BB on a line on my account, however my company are starting to move email from BB to the GOOD application. As my main iPhone4 is JB they will not allow it to be used (they use the GOOD app JB check every 12 hours) so was wondering can I use the unactivated iPhone3GS (I bought it when a while ago but never activated it as I found my old iPhone3) and activate it on my BB line and change to the 200Mb plan? Any flaws in my thinking?
