Hi

I am looking to upgrade to Yosemite and one of my concerns is to make sure my emails will be ok with it. I primarily use Sparrow for one main email account.

Does anyone know if Sparrow is available on Yosemite?

Also, what would be the best way for me to backup the emails (bearing in mind I have old emails stored in a number of different folders)?

Many thanks

L

I think Sparrow is discontinued, but Airmail looks very similar and is compatible with Yosemite.

I don't think you would need to backup your emails? What are you using, Gmail? If you can login at Gmail.com for example and see them there, then you are good to go.

If you try Airmail and it is able to get all your email, problem solved.

I don't think Sparrow is being updated anymore, but it works great on Yosemite for me. Not sure what you mean about backing up your emails?

Thanks for the Airmail tip. Hadn't looked at that before.

I get my emails through BT/Yahoo and are POP, so they are mostly downloaded and kept offline in folders. I still want to be able to access old emails and so make sure that Sparrow works with the upgrade in order to be able to do this.

Hope that makes sense???

The easiest way to do this is probably going to be with Apple Time Machine. All you need is a $60 hard drive and you can backup your whole machine in the event that something goes wrong.
