I have a sparseimage volume that loads as a login item at startup. On Snow Leopard it loaded instantly at login. Now in Lion it does not load/mount the volume for about 30-60 seconds after logging in.
Does anyone else see this, or have an idea why this would happen?
EDIT: after much troubleshooting, i am finding that the problem is with Firefox (5.0.1), and there are two issues:
1) if Firefox is resumed, the load of the sparseimage volume is delayed for ~1 minute (if firefox is in login-items, but exited well before logout, it starts automatically and there is no delay with the loading of the sparseimage volume
2) If firefox is exited, and i then log-out/shut down, next time i log back in, Firefox is resumed (should not be resumed, because it was closed when i shut down!) - loading of the sparseimage volume is also delayed..
Update#2 - Firefox is also delaying the startup of Dropbox when 'resumed' ...
it seems there are issues with Firefox 5.0.1 and the resume feature.
