"Speak" option when highlighting text sounds like fast forward

Whats up with this? I didn't even ever really notice this on my 4S until tonight and have been messing with it. Surely it's not supposed to sound like its been sped up. Mine is so fast you can't even understand it.

*edit* nvm, figured it out, I'm an idiot
