Speaker Icon When Adjusting Volume. Make it go away!

I think I know the answer to my question, but I'm going to ask anyway.

You know how when you are watching a video and you adjust the volume, you will see the grey square with the speaker icon come up smack dab in the middle of the screen?

Is there any way to make that stop? Please!

No, but you can tap the screen to bring up the controls and then use the slider instead of the buttons. Might be less obstructive...

You can get rid of it you jailbreak. Or change it to just audio tones
