Speaker phone has stopped working!

I can no longer use speaker phone when I make phone calls. When I use it I get no sound and the person at the other end of the call cannot hear me. The speaker still works on youtube so I don't think that it is a hardware fault. Does anyone have any ideas / has anyone experienced the same problem
