Speaker recommendation please?

I want to know what are the best sounding and best looking speakers sitting next to a new iMac on a desk for under $250? Any advice on what to buy and where to buy would be greatly appreciated.


PS - does anyone use the Harmon Kardon Soundstick II? How are those?

It sounds like you have just answered your own question. This is the first speaker set that popped into my head. These are universally loved for great sound quality and a look that compliments your new mac. Plus they are considerably cheaper than $250, so you can put that extra cash towards something else!

Harmon Kardan's are good, but they arent your best option

for 2.1 I'd reccomend Logitech FX6021 (also cheaper then $250)

but obviously monitors are much better.

I recommend the logitech Z4-i. It gets great reviews on amazon and looks great next to any white mac.

Just checked amazon and they currently have it at $35 after rebate. Maybe save your extra $200 and spend it on something else.
