Speaker volume on high end 2020 MBP 13 vs. high end 2018 MBP 13

I noticed a difference in the max volume of the speakers between my 2020 and 2018 model MBP, with the 2018 model producing a noticeably louder max volume on YouTube.
The difference is not earth shattering but it certainly is there (confirmed with a decibel meter app). Has anyone else had the chance to compare? I’m thinking that maybe it’s due to the difference in thickness ?

Which version of the 2020? The 2020 (8th generation CPU) base model is supposed to be inferior to the higher end model (10th generation CPU) which has woofers.
 
Also 10th gen 2020 model for me. I would be curious to know if this is a bug, production tolerance variations or a result of thickness. I imagine that the difference in max volume would also be noticable when compared to the 2019 model.
 
The sound is still great. Maybe even slightly better than on my last one from 2018. The new cooling system, however, bugs me.
 
I have the 8th generation 13" 2020, and the sound is fantastic for a laptop this size, or any laptop as long as I can remember. I'm really impressed. I'm not sure how the sound compares to the 10th generation 13", but it's miles better than my late 2013 15" that will be retired.

I think it is even better on the 10th gen (from what I saw/heard in MaxTech's comparison video). Apple made some big steps in terms of speakers. In every device category. Very happy.
 
Can anyone else confirm that the max volume on the 2020 10th gen is slightly less loud than the 2018 with 4 thunderbolt ports model? I would also be curious to find out how it compares with the same 2019 model?

Yes it is known that the 2018 is loader
Even the 16” is not that load than the 15” 2018 but that doesn’t mean is better
From max volume stand point 13” base model 2020<13” 10th gen<16” mbp<15”mbp 2018
But just from max volume stand point because the rest is better
