Speaker works but not earpiece??

I have a iphone 3gs that the speaker works fine with calls but I can't hear anything through the earpiece. So whenever i make a call I have to put it on speaker. Anyone know anything about the logic boards? Is it my board or the earpiece? Do they work of the same connection on the board?
