basically what's happened is that your computer thinks your speakers/headphones are still plugged in, even though they're not. If you look into the headphone jack, you'll see a red light, which indicates that it's picking up that something's plugged in (even if it's not). The only home fix is to quickly plug and unplug your headphones/speakers until the red light goes away (meaning that it's finally recognizing that nothing is actually plugged in).
 
Took it in and the verdict was bad logicboard. I've got AppleCare so worst case I'm computerless for the next 5 days.

Yes that should fix it - it is a little switch/latch that is stuck in the headphone socket as CrzyCanuck72 has already said.
