Hi there,

I would like to buy speakers for my iBook and iPod Mini. Before, I go any further, I know the sound from the iBook is tinny, but is this due to bad speakers, or a bad sound card? Because if the iBook doesn't really have a good soundcard, then buying speakers isn't going to do me any benefit!

I am split between:

Harman Multimedia Soundsticks II (£97.49)
Harman Multimedia JBL Creature Speakers II White Satellite Spkrs & Sub (£59.29)

What do you have, and what do you recommend? Opinions greatly appreciated.

Well, as much as I loved my Soundsticks II, the clarity of their highs and mids....the lack of bass and overall volume level disappointed me. If you don't crank your speakers much, I highly suggest them over anything. The Creatures don't have near the range they do. I used to have the Soundsticks hooked up to my iBook and they sounded superb.
Actually, I kind of like the Encounters more but you have to decide if the looks are what you like. Just my 2 cents.
