Speakers / radio for the apt, tv

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get a gift for my girlfriend's bday (we live together), and I know she really likes to listen to the radio but ours is pretty bad. I wanted to get her a new radio where I could put speakers in various places around the apt and she could listen throughout the whole apt. At least one speaker needs to be in the bathroom so it has to deal with the humidity from a shower. We also got a new plasma for Xmas, but with no external speakers. I would like for the speakers to also work with the tv since she likes to watch movies on it. Any suggestions? And just to make things more complicated , if the radio station could be controlled from both the bathroom and the living room that would be a great plus. Any ability to use my iPhone or iPad with the speakers (or her android) would also be nice.
