Hi new to Mac already encountered a problem.

The problem is my speakers don't work. They make a crackling noise. When i turn up the sound using the F11 and F12 key each time i turn it up or down it crackles. I tryed to play video of multiple programs. Youtube, iTunes, VLC.

MacBook Pro 15Inch (new model)
2.8GHz Processor
320GB 7200rpm

Downloaded applications so far:
Handbrake
VCL
Ventrilo
Blender 3D program
LimeWire
iAntiVirus
SMC fan control

I'm currently running TechTool Deluxe to see if it catches anything. I also play World of Warcraft and i run my fans at 6200RPM to keep my laptop cool while i play. The temp usually sits around 72-75 on average for 4-5 hours. I hardly play sound on my laptop speakers I usually plug in earphones or play on my 2.1 stereo speakers. I have an apple care package plan so I may just take it to apple tommorow.

Any suggestions?

But the line out for your headphones and external speakers works fine, yes?

You're right, the crackling could well be a hardware issue with the laptop's built-in speakers.
