Hello,

I have an iMac 2019 27'' which is using Mojave 10.14.4 build 18E2034.
It looks like this is a "Special Build" (that's how they call it in other forums) since the standard Mojave 10.14 build is 18E226.

I'm having issues to boot from an external hard drive (the disk of my laptop).
Normally, to boot from an external hard drive it's just enough to invoke the Startup Manager during the boot sequence and connect the other computer through a thunderbolt cable after setting it in Target Disk Mode.

This procedure is described in the following Apple support article:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202796

However, when I connect my laptop to my iMac and and invoke the Startup Manager at power on it doesn't detect my external hard drive.

I've tried to reset SMC and reset NVRAM but without any success.

Do you have any suggestions on how to solve this problem?

Cheers
