Special Challenges in China

Anyone know if there is a way to earn any of the special challenges that are placed in China? There’s an upcoming challenge for China in February and I’m wondering if changing the regional settings would let one earn the badge.

I leave in France and i’m used to change my region to US to get extra special challenges. Works like a charm.

February 1st, though there’s a US one during the same timeframe.
